The planet of Gaia is 12,000 kilometres in diameter. It is orbited by two moons: Dio and Exodia, which are 5,000 and 3,000 kilometres in diameter respectively. There is only one sun in the solar system, simply called "the Sun", around which Gaia rotates. Days on Gaia last 24 hours, as on Earth; in a similar vein, the Gaian calendar lasts twelve months, with each month lasting thirty days. As a result, the Gaian year lasts 360 days, or 8,640 hours. Weather and climate are variable, but the hotter areas are on the equator. The far north and far south get considerably colder, though the weather becomes less unpredictable the further you get from the central line of latitude. A large ocean separates the two main continents: the Grafosk Expanse. The Expanse is a large sea covering a considerable portion of the southern hemisphere, and portions of it freeze over in considerably colder years, though generally the area of the sea closer to the southern pole. The planet, per Conworlding Institute Directorate Order 1, can hold up to eight political entities at any one time. When the simulation commences, all eight will be initially operated by the Institute. Below is a map of the planet.
